When will the exam be?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first session of the 2021 YKS, the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), which all candidates must take, will be held on Saturday, June 26, at 10.00. The second session, the Field Proficiency Test (AYT), will be held on Sunday, June 27, at 10.00, and the Foreign Language Test (YDT) will be held at 15.30 on the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is TYT? (Basic Proficiency Test)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   TYT; It consists of 4 parts: Turkish Test, Social Sciences Test, Basic Mathematics Test and Science Test. Turkish Test consists of 40 questions. Social Sciences Test; It aims to measure students' knowledge and mostly their interpretation skills in the fields of History (5), Geography (5), Religious Culture and Ethics (5) and Philosophy (5) and consists of 20 questions. The Science test consists of Physics (7), Chemistry (7) and Biology (6) questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Basic math test;<\/strong> This exam consists of 40 questions and covers topics learned in the 9th and 10th grades. The 9th grade curriculum includes different types of problem questions on number sets, divisibility rules, first-order equations and inequalities - exponent\/radical expressions and equations, and especially equation and inequality applications. In 10th grade subjects, questions on quadratic equations, functions, permutation, combination and probability, as well as questions on triangle, quadrilateral and solid object concepts in the field of geometry are expected to come as every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

   This test aims to measure students' general understanding of the question, problem solving and interpretation abilities, and is generally adapted to daily life problems and appears before students as a new generation question type. So, this exam; We can say that although it mainly tests basic mathematical knowledge, it is also an exam that measures the candidates' understanding-interpretation, reasoning and quick thinking capacities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is AYT?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AYT session, planned to be held one day after the TYT exam, consists of a total of 160 questions, 40 in Mathematics, 40 in Turkish, 40 in Science and 40 in Social Sciences, and students are asked to complete the exam in 180 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates will solve the questions in line with the departments they prefer. Compared to the first stage, this second session contains more questions that will directly measure students' knowledge levels in their fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example; The tests expected to be solved for a student in the numerical field are 80 questions in total, 40 questions in Mathematics and 40 questions in the Science test. The given time is 180 minutes. The time required for each question is around 2 minutes and 25 seconds. Again, the increased time from the test in which you are stronger will return as additional time to the questions in the other test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time Management in Exams<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Another important issue is time management in this exam. There are a total of 120 questions and students are expected to answer them within 135 minutes. From time to time, students have difficulty in managing this time and may even finish the exam without reading some questions. Therefore, being able to manage time as well as the knowledge itself is an expected skill element for this exam. For this purpose, it is generally important to determine the maximum time to be allocated for the questions, not to be stubborn with the questions, to have their own logic in the questions and to choose the shortest and correct solution method. All students can also actively include time in their pre-exam tests to ensure that they are informed about the general situation that will occur on the exam day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things to Consider Before and During the Exam<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 To prevent crowding in front of the building and maintain social distance, candidates will be asked to come to the exam with at most one relative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 No one other than candidates and officials will be allowed into the gardens of the exam buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Candidates will be guided by the officers to maintain social distance when entering the exam building, inside the building and when leaving the exam building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Disinfectant will be applied to the candidates' hands at the entrance of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Masks will be distributed to candidates at the entrance of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Hand sanitizer will be distributed to candidates at the entrance of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Candidates will be able to take the exam with their own masks, visors and hand disinfectants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Examiners will use latex gloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
