Saint-Michel High Schoolwas established in 1886 in Beyoğlu District. The school had 25 students at that time, but in 1923, the year the Republic of Turkey was founded, the school opened by the Frers reached 458 students. Education is always conducted in French and Turkish.
Thanks to the French Baccalaureate equivalent diploma, high school graduates have the right to directly apply to universities in France. Students can benefit from the 25 percent quota imposed by Galatasaray University on French schools by taking the internal exam. However, in order to benefit from this right, they must be among the top 25 thousand in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS).
